It is always exciting to see a new baby rhino, but it never takes long to think about the threat that little one may face in its life.
These balls of energy spend the first few years alongside their mothers, who keep a close and protective eye on them, meaning that there are very few natural threats to rhinos in the wild.
 
This little girl was born on a private game reserve in the Eastern Cape. It is sad to know that there are now more rhino in private hands than in National Parks after the devastation of the rhino population over the past 10 years.
 
We can only hope that this little girl never finds out just how much danger she may be in.
